A friend of mine invited me here for an early lunch. She’s been here a number of times and let me know the food was really good. She DID NOT LIE. We came in and were greeted warmly. We had a lot to talk about and kept getting distracted forgetting to actually look at the menu to order and the woman helping us was so patient and kind she gave us all the time we needed and answered all of our questions. We ordered the plantain spring rolls and salmon bites as appetizers, one rum punch and one fruit punch for drinks, my friend got oxtails with pasta and added sweet chili shrimp I got oxtails with rice plantains and cabbage. Not only were the dishes just beautiful. They tasted bomb. Flavors were so on point!! I traveled from Jersey and I can’t wait to visit again! Really the sweetest environment and people with delicious food. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Blessings to you guys. You can’t find this everywhere.

The evening began with a delightful appetizer — delicate salmon bites paired perfectly with a smooth piña colada. Each bite was artfully crafted, beautifully garnished with edible flowers that seemed to bloom under the soft glow of candlelight. The romantic ambiance wrapped around us, every detail of the décor whispering elegance and warmth, setting the perfect mood for a night made for two. When the main course arrived, the curried salmon with rice and beans took center stage. Each bite revealed an explosion of flavor — the perfect harmony of curry, bell peppers, and carrots dancing together in delicious balance. The sautéed spinach on the side brought an unexpected twist — bold yet refined, seasoned to perfection in a way I had never tasted before.Every moment of the meal was a celebration — from the first sip to the final bite. A heartfelt thumbs up to the chef for crafting such an extraordinary dining experience. Without hesitation, a full five out of five stars. Jungle Restaurant has truly earned its place as my new Jamaican favorite, and I can’t wait to return for another unforgettable evening.

This is a hidden gem but don’t be fooled, the food and service is top tier!!! As a Jamaican myself I love that the owners are Jamaican and cook very authentically. The presentation was a 10, the food 10, the drinks 10, the vibe was a 10, and the staff was the cherry on top. Will be back to visit very soon!

Made the trip from Brooklyn to Mount Vernon for a cooking class at Jungle, and it was hands-down a 10/10 experience. The Chef and his assistant hosted an intimate, well-organized class that was super welcoming and beginner-friendly. They were so kind, helpful, and accommodating throughout the entire session. The fish we cooked tasted amazing, and they even surprised us with extra items off the regular menu! It couldn’t have been better. I highly recommend eating at their restaurant or taking a class! They also mentioned that they will be expanding the space this fall and can accommodate larger parties, music/entertainment and more. I am looking forward to it. I wish I took pictures of the food, but I was too excited to taste it, and once I did, I didn't stop eating until it was all done.

Perfect restaurant to celebrate a birthday dinner. Tahira was attentive to our requests and went above & beyond from start to finish. The food was delicious and mouthwatering. We look forward to returning ❤️

On Valentine’s day we decided to dine at our favorite restaurant. When we walked in, the ambience was set for a romantic dinner. We were warmly greeted by Tahirah, the proprietor and hostess. We ordered appetizers, drinks and entrees. Each dish was well seasoned and expertly prepared. Jungle has consistently provided delicious dishes since we first discovered this jewel in the quiet hamlet of Mount Vernon. We highly recommend jungle.

Food and service were top tier. From beginning to end, the meal was perfect. Expertly seasoned and noticeably fresh. Our favorites were the fried shrimp, whole snapper, and stew peas. Highly recommend!

Jungle is an amazing and Authentic Jamaican food experience!! I attended a cooking class here and the Jamaican couple who owns it is so lovely. They are warm and welcoming and the food literally melts in your mouth. The peas and rice and pasta sides are worth the trip. The red snapper was delectable. Can't wait to return for their oxtails and beef patties. Chef's Kiss!

This restaurant was ABSOLUTELY delicious! Came with my family and left feeling like a part of the Jungle Family. Lovely staff, great vibes and really really good food! Will be returning very soon!
